In mid February I treated my first case of Sweet Itch in 2022 !
A bit early you could say
The midge Culicoides which causes Sweet itch is active usually April to October , most active in marshy, wooded areas from dawn to dusk, so keep horses in from dusk to dawn to try and prevent contact with the midge
In this case the horse was in a wet wooded area and of course the Winter/Spring was so mild that midges were active most of the time
The Homeopathic remedy I precribed worked very well and the horse is now in good shape
